Walking Expedition Package

We complete all expedition notification paperwork thus lifting a considerable burden from the DofE co-ordinator.

Bushcraft skills are included as the project element. Subjects covered include fire lighting, shelter building and tree and plant identification.

We provide all food and camping equipment for attending teachers.

Campsite fees and fuel costs are also included in the price.

All expeditions are supervised day and night by our highly qualified and experienced Mountainwise staff. This ensures staff continuity, high standards and consistency of delivery.

Participants are to observe a digital detox and are not permitted to use their mobile phones at any time during the expedition except for in an emergency.

Silver expeditions take place in Essex and the Chilterns, Buckinghamshire.
Classroom Training Course
Duration: 8 Hours
What's Included:

This course is structured to suit your needs. All the topics in the AAP 20 conditions are covered and all course paperwork is completed.

Our high staff ratio at classroom training sessions of 1 member of staff per 2 groups (so maximum of 14 participants) allows for attention to detail at the planning stage.

All subjects covered in the training course are backed up with hand-out materials. During the training course all route planning and route cards for the assessed expeditions are completed.

Practice Expedition
Duration: 3 days, 2 nights
What's included:

All personal and group expedition equipment is provided for participants. This ensures that all the equipment used is appropriate and of high quality.

Expeditions are supervised day and night by Mountainwise staff. Practise expeditions are staffed at a ratio of 1 member of staff per group (maximum of 7 participants).

All food and camping equipment is provided for attending teachers.

Campsite fees and fuel costs are also included in the price.

Transport to and from the expedition is not provided

We have over 30 DofE accredited assessors allowing for staff continuity though out the practice and assessment expeditions.
